This category defines the types of related items for an ordered part. Two types of relationships have been predefined for this category: substitute (items that you may suggest to your customer as a substitute item to be purchased instead) and complementary (items that you may suggest to your customer that complement another ordered part).
You may define additional types of relationships.
If you choose to add additional relationship types, you can use the RI action code in Sales Order or Quote Order Maintenance, which will allow you to select from a list of relationship types. Or, you can customize the processing by adding a new action code. For more information about adding action codes, refer to Section 9 - Window Processing in the Technical Support Manual.
This category is keyed by relationship type.
RELATIONSHIP TYPE
Required. Enter up to a three-character user-defined type code. Two relationship types have been predefined: substitute (SUB) and complementary (CMP).
