The Quotation Types category contains the valid quotation types used when maintaining quotes in the Purchasing module. Except for the main type, all types are user defined. Only one main quotation can be related to an item/vendor relationship, to catch the attention of the buyer in inquiries and reports. The other user-defined types are used to categorize quotations on inquiries and reports.
This category has a blank key to allow only one record.

This screen is used to define the quotation types codes and decodes. For each code, you can enter a 10 character description, which will be displayed on valid values lists for this category.
QUOTATION TYPE CODES
Quotation type codes are one-character codes used to classify vendor quotations in the Purchasing module. Up to seven codes can be defined. The first code is the main code, which is used to catch the attention of the buyers. The system is shipped with the value for this code set to M. You can change this value by typing a different letter in the field. However, at least one code must be defined. The other six codes are optional.
DECODE
Optional. Text describing each quotation type. The first decode field contains text for the left-most code in the Quotation Type Codes area. The default for the first decode is set to MAIN, but you may override this description. You should enter a decode for each additional code that you define. No validation is performed.
