The Planning Policy Codes category contains all the valid planning policy codes in the system.
There are six system-defined planning policy codes. In addition, four planning policy codes may be defined by the user. The planning policy codes must be unique and the first six codes must be 123567. The system expects these exact codes, so you will get unpredictable results if the planning policy codes are other than these are used. This category is required if the Requirements Planning module is installed.
This category has a blank key to allow only one record.

PLANNING POLICY CODE
Required. Used to define the 10 planning policy codes used in the system. The first six are system-defined, and the last four are user-defined. If user-defined codes are used, the system must be modified to process them.
AS REQUIRED PLANNING POLICY DECODE
Required. Used to define the decode of the As Required planning policy code. With the As Required planning policy code, the part is ordered as needed. Job controlled parts can only be defined with an As Required planning policy code.
FIXED TIME PLANNING POLICY DECODE
Required. Used to define the decode of the Fixed Time planning policy code. The fixed time planning policy code generates orders for the quantity of items that are required during a time interval.
FIXED QUANTITY PLANNING POLICY DECODE
Required. Used to define the decode of the Fixed Quantity planning policy code. With this planning policy code, the orders are set to a multiple of the order policy quantity (and increment, if one is specified). The net requirement is increased to the next multiple of the order policy quantity (if the order policy increment is zero), or by the order policy increment, until the net requirement is satisfied.
PHYSICAL CONTROL PLANNING POLICY DECODE
Required. Used to define the decode of the Physical Control planning policy code. This planning policy code is only used in Requirements Planning, which will generate planning action report records for the part, but not action messages.
PARTIAL PLANNING POLICY DECODE
Required. Used to define the decode of the Partial Planning policy code. This policy code is comparable to the as required policy code. Daily production rates equal the sum of demand on corresponding days. This planning policy code can only be used for JIT manufactured and build-thru parts.
AVERAGE PLANNING POLICY DECODE
Required. Used to define the decode of the Average Planning Policy code. This policy code accumulates all demand within a flow interval and divides that sum by the number of working days remaining in the flow interval. The result is a single daily production rate for all work days within the flow interval. This planning policy code can only be used for JIT manufactured and build-thru parts.
USER-DEFINED PLANNING POLICY DECODE
Required. Used to define the decode of the user-defined planning policy codes, if any exist.
