This screen is used to define the packing type codes and decodes used in the Purchasing module.
PACKING TYPE CODES
Required. Each code is two characters long. Three codes are provided with the system. These codes can be changed, and two additional codes can be added. The three system codes are:
FP - Free packing (positions 1-2)
RP - Returnable packing (positions 3-4)
PC - Packing for which a fee is charged (positions 5-6)
DECODES
Optional. Each packing type code has a 15-character decode. These decodes are used to describe the codes on valid values lists. They are also printed on reports and displayed on screens. Default values are shipped for the first three codes; however, these default descriptions can be changed.
