The Lot System Defaults category determines:
o whether lot numbers will be automatically assigned by the system
o the next available lot number, if lot numbers are to be automatically assigned
o whether a priority code will default to all multiple location records
This category has a blank key to allow only one record.
Note: Even if you are in a non-lot-controlled environment, you must set up this Reference File category. By doing so, you will allow the character in the Multiple Location Priority Code Default field to default to all multiple location records.

This Reference File category determines lot system defaults; for example, whether lot numbers are to be assigned automatically by the system, whether the next available lot number will be assigned automatically, and whether a priority code should default automatically to all multiple location records for a part.
If lot numbers are to be assigned by the system, this category also holds the next available lot number for assignment. If lot numbers are system-assigned, you may override them by entering lot numbers manually.
ASSIGN LOTS
Required. Valid values are Y (yes) and N (no). Enter a Y if numbers are to be assigned automatically by the system. Enter a N if you want to manually enter lot numbers.
NEXT AVAILABLE LOT NUMBER
Optional. Enter the next lot number you wish to have automatically assigned. If you are manually assigning numbers, you do not need to enter data in this field.
MULTIPLE LOCATION PRIORITY CODE DEFAULT
Optional. You may use this field if you want a specific priority code to default to all multiple location records created by MAC-PAC receipt, issue, or inventory adjustment programs for a part. Valid values are any IBM EBCDIC character.
