PERIOD LENGTH
Required. A period defines a length of time used during the schedule processing. You must define at least 1 period length, or a maximum of 32 period lengths. Valid period lengths are:
D - Daily period
W - Weekly period (If you define a period length as weekly, PO release quantities will be accumulated into this period according to due date.)
Because period lengths and natures (the next field) operate in conjunction with each other, and natures describe the planner's level of commitment towards an order, you should define all daily period lengths before you define any weekly period lengths. That is, you must not intersperse daily and weekly periods.
The following example of period lengths is acceptable: DDDDWWWWWWWW.
The following example of period lengths is NOT acceptable: DDWDDWWWWWD.
NATURES
Required. You must define natures for every period length that you defined. Natures describe the buyer's level of commitment towards an order. Valid values are:
0 - Immediate Release (Not handled by Repetitive Supply)
1 - Firmed - Delivery Request
2 - Planned - Manufacturing Authorization
3 - Planned - Supply Authorization
4 - Forecast - Trend
Note that you must not intersperse natures; they must be defined in logical order. For example, 111223344. Natures are validated against Reference File category G12, Nature of Delivery Request Release.
