The Expedite Notice Codes category defines the valid expedite notice type codes used in the system. The expedite notice type determines at what point, if any, the buyer should contact the vendor concerning a purchase order. These codes are defined at the item/vendor relationship level and may be overridden during purchase order maintenance. A lead time may also be assigned, to determine the number of days before or after the due date the buyer should contact the vendor. This is a required category.
This category has a blank key to allow only one record.

This screen is used to define system expedite notice codes and decodes. The decodes are descriptions for each option that are used on reports, inquiries, and valid values lists to describe the codes.
EXPEDITE NOTICE CODES
Required. Each code is two characters long. Three codes are provided with the system. These codes can be changed, and two additional codes can be added. The three codes provided by the system are:
PR - Preventative expedite notice (positions 1-2)
NE - No expedite notice (positions 3-4)
PD - Past due expedite notice (positions 5-6)
DECODES
Optional. Each expedite notice code has a 15-character decode. These decodes are used to describe the codes on valid values lists. They are also printed on reports and displayed on screens. Default values are shipped for the first three codes; however, these default descriptions can be changed.
