This category is requested only in a VAT environment when the ESL/SSD Management is used.

This category contains all the EC Commodity codes in force . Usually, it is an eight digit field. But, for one or more products, the member states may need additional national subdivisions, provided that the party responsible for providing information can choose to supply the information in accordance either with the combined nomenclature or with any such additional subdivisions.

This category is be used to check the validity of the customs commodity code in the ESL/SSD extract. You are not allowed to request a final intrastat report if some commodity codes are invalid. It is also used in the calculation of statistical values via corrective rates to include transport and insurance costs relating to the part of the journey to be considered.

This screen allows you to maintain additional information for the commodity code you entered on the Function Select screen.

CORRECTIVE RATES: ACQUISITION

Optional. This field is used in the calculation of the statistical value. The statistical value is established, on arrival, on the basis of the taxable amount to be determined for tax purposes (amended version of the sixth VAT directive), minus, however, taxes due because of the release for home use and transport and insurance costs relating to that part of the journey which takes place in the statistical territory of the member state of arrival. The corrective rate is intended to take care of that.

The statistical value is established, on dispatch, on the basis of the taxable amount to be determined for tax purposes (amended version of the sixth VAT directive), minus, however, taxes due because of the dispatch; it shall, on the other hand, include transport and insurance costs relating to that part of the journey which takes place in the statistical territory of the member state of dispatch. The corrective rate is intended to take care of that.
