This category allows you to define default values that will be used when you create a new customer in the Customer Master Maintenance conversation.   The defaults are defined at the same level that customers are defined.  For example, if you define customers at a global level, one record exists on this category for system-wide defaults.  If you define customers at a company level, you must set up a record on this category for each company in the system.  The defaults on that record will be used when customers are created for that company.  The level at which customers are defined is specified using the Currency Level field on Reference File category 133.

CATEGORY KEY

The information you enter for the category key will depend on the currency level.

This screen allows you to maintain default values that will be used when you create a new customer for the currency level (company) entered on the Function Select screen.

ON RESERVE/ON ORDER AMOUNT

Required.  This field will is used as part of the credit check processing in the Order Processing module.  Specifically, it is used to identify whether the system will use On Reserve amount in credit checking or On Order amount.  If no value is specified for this flag, the system will use On Order amount.  Valid values are:

R - On Reserve amount will be used for credit checking.  This is the reserve quantity multiplied by the unit price plus taxes.

O - On Order amount will be used for credit checking.  This is the extended price plus taxes.

A/R DUE DAYS or A/R DUE AMOUNT

Required.  Identifies whether the customer's accounts receivable balance will be evaluated according to amount overdue or days overdue during credit checking.  Valid values are:

A - Amount Overdue.  Compares the customer's A/R overdue balance against the customer's Amount Overdue Limit.

D - Days Overdue.  Compares the number of days the oldest unpaid invoice is overdue to the customer's Days Overdue Limit.

Note that this field will apply to all customers defined for this level (global, company, or company/location); a separate flag is NOT stored for each customer on the Customer Master File.

Required.  This field defines when bills of lading will be printed.  Valid values are defined on Reference File category G63.

PAST DUE A/R EXCEPTION LIMIT

Optional.  A credit exception will be created when the customer's past due accounts receivable balance equals or exceeds this amount.  This field is used for new customers when a customer class is not specified.  When a customer class is specified, the limit defaults from Reference File category 310.

PAYMENT TERMS

Required.  This field determines how discounts, due dates, and installments are processed for the customer.  This field is only used for new customers when a customer class is not entered.  If a customer class is entered, the payment terms default from category 310 instead.  Payment terms must be defined through the Payment Terms Maintenance conversation.

INVOICE RELEASE CODE

Required.  This field defines when invoices will be printed.  Valid values are defined on Reference File category 444.
