The Cost Elements category contains all of the cost elements used in the system.

Required. Used to define a cost element to the system.

This screen is used to define a cost element to the system.
DESCRIPTION
Required. This describes the cost element.
ROLLUP CODE
Optional. If entered, the rollup code must be an existing cost element on the system. The rollup code is used to specify a summary cost type to use for reporting purposes.
ACQUISITION FLAG
Optional. Must be either Y or N if entered. The acquisition flag is used during Part Cost maintenance and Warehouse Cost maintenance to determine if the cost associated with this element is part of the total acquisition cost of the item.
DISPLAY ON P/M MAINT
Required. If this flag is set to Y, costs associated with this element can be entered during Part Cost maintenance.
DISPLAY ON W/B MAINT
Required. If this flag is set to Y, costs associated with this element can be entered during Warehouse Cost maintenance.
DISPLAY ON W/C MAINT
Required. If this flag is set to Y, costs associated with this element can be entered during Workcenter Cost maintenance.
COST TYPE
Optional. If entered, the cost type must be one of the following:
M - Material
L - Labor
O - Overhead
The cost type flag is used during Part Cost maintenance to determine if the cost associated with this element is part of the material, labor, or overhead cost of the part.
MACHINE/LABOR APPLICATION
Optional. If entered, the mach/labor flag must be one of the following:
M - Machine hours based
L - Labor hours based
The machine/labor application flag is used during Workcenter Cost maintenance to determine if the cost associated with this element is part of the machine based overhead or the labor based overhead of the workcenter.
