The Center Description Category defines the valid centers which can be used for each location in the system. This category also provides the default center description used when records are added to the Account/ Center Master File. There are three types of records in this category: location, company, and global. If a location record exists for a center, the center is valid for the specific location requested. If a company record exists, the center is valid for all locations within the requested company. If a global record exists for the center, the center is valid for all locations.
The chart below identifies the values of the company and location fields for each record type.
