TAX AMOUNT/VAT AMOUNT

Field displays VAT Amt in a VAT environment.  Otherwise, the field displays Tax Amt. The portion of the gross amount that represents tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), or sum of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Provincial Sales Tax (PST) charged on the document.  If entered, the system validates this amount against the sum of the tax amounts entered on or calculated from the detail lines.
