Selling Company, Warehouse, and Location

For each sales order, you must specify the selling warehouse.  This warehouse will receive credit for the sale.  Warehouse numbers are unique within a company.  Therefore, whenever you specify a warehouse, you must also specify the company to which it belongs.  The selling company/warehouse is used as the default for the sourcing warehouse for each sales order line.  However, you can override this default and source a line from any warehouse belonging to the same company.

The selling company/warehouse is also used to determine the General Ledger company and location.  The accounts receivable and sales journal entries generated from the sale will be posted to the books of this company/location.
