Scrap Calculations

Required quantities for components that possess non-zero scrap factors.  If 'X' is the calculated required quantity of component to parent, and 's' is the component scrap factor, then the calculations are as follows for consumed and produced components:

Required Quantity = X/{1 - (s/100)}

Required quantities of components are "inflated" to account for unusable components in the manufacturing process. Since produced components generally would not have expected quantities (versus required quantities for components) "inflated", scrap factors for produced components should generally be zero.  If it is desired that some of the expected by-product yield is unusable, then this should be factored into the quantity per batch/unit defined for the produced component.
