Reversal Code
Reversal Code
A reversal code is used to indicate that you wish to back out a previously entered transaction. When the code is used, the sign of the transaction quantity will change. For example, an in inventory issue usually decreases inventory at the location. When the reversal code is used, the inventory location is increased by the transaction amount.
Valid values are:
R - Reverse the transaction
Blank - Do not record the transaction as a reversal
Enter an 'R' in the field if you want the system to automatically create reversing entries for a journal in the next period. Leave this field blank if a journal should not be reversed in the next period.
