RMA Number

A Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number is issued to customers for returning goods.  This number will be used throughout the system for tracking the return.  With this number, RMA receipts can be created and RMA acknowledgments can be printed for the customer.  

The RMA Number is an 8 place, alphanumeric field that can be user defined or system defined.  If the system automatically assigns the RMA number, it retrieves the next available RMA number from Reference File category G72, uses that, and increments the category by 1.  Reference File category 447 holds the company/warehouse default for RMA number generation.  It also holds the RMA print release default.
