Planning Policy Quantity
Planning Policy Quantity
This field is used in conjunction with the Planning Policy Code to specify an optimum production sizing rule for the part.
-
If the Planning Policy Code is 1 (As Required), the Planning Policy Quantity is not necessary and will be zero.
-
If the Planning Policy Code is 2 (Fixed Time Period), the Planning Policy Quantity should define the number of periods for which each order should satisfy requirements. The periods should be a number of days for requirements planning or service parts and a number of weeks for master scheduled parts.
-
If the Planning Policy Code is 3 (Fixed Quantity), the Planning Policy Quantity should represent a minimum order quantity. For purchased or raw material parts, this quantity should be expressed in stockkeeping units of measure. However, if the stockkeeping units are different than the purchasing units, the planning policy quantity should be expressed taking into account the purchasing units.
