Part Number

This field indicates the unique number used to identify a part throughout the plant.  The part number is alphanumeric and is stored on the Part Master File.  

The part number must be specified whenever you enter a transaction involving the part.  If a part will be transferred between plants, it must have the same part number in both plants.  Part numbers must be assigned to all purchased, manufactured, raw material, planning, reference, build-thru, non-standard, transfer, non-stocked, and bundled items.
