Order Policy Increment

This field is used for parts that have an Planning Policy Code of 3 (fixed quantity) or 2 (fixed time).

  • For a policy code of 3:  Manufacturing and purchase order quantities will be increased by this quantity over the minimum order quantity.  For example, given an Order Policy Quantity of 500, an Order Policy Increment of 50 and a requirement for 620, the planning modules would suggest an order of 650.  If the increment is zero, the Order Policy Quantity serves as the increment.  For purchased or raw material parts, this quantity should be expressed in purchasing units of measure, if different from the stockkeeping units.
  • For a Planning Policy code of 2 (fixed time):  The increment serves as the fixed quantity if anything other than zero is entered.  In other words it will be treated as a combination of fixed time and fixed quantity with no increment.
