Operation Type

1. Standard Operation.  Neither the setup nor the run for the operation can begin before the entire order quantity has been completed at the preceding operation.  The elapsed time of the operation depends on the order quantity.

2. Master Operation.  A master operation serves as a summary of two or more detail operations.  This might be used if you wish to define the operations at a detailed level for scheduling purposes, but to record labor hours at a summary level for a group of detail operations.  No scheduling information is defined for a master operation; all scheduling date is entered for the detail operations.  The detail operations that are associated with a master consist of all non-master operations that immediately precede the master and occur in the same workcenter. The crew flag must be the same for all operations that are associated with a given master operation.

3. Setup Only Overlap.  The setup may be performed before the preceding operation has been completed, but the run cannot begin before the preceding operation has been completed.

4. Run Time Overlap.  The setup may be performed before the preceding operation has been completed.  The run may begin once the Overlap Quantity or the Overlap Percentage has been completed in the preceding operation.

5. Setup and Run Time Overlap.  The setup may begin once the Overlap Quantity or the Overlap Percentage has been completed in the preceding operation.

6. Fixed Time No Overlap.  The elapsed time of the operation is independent of the order quantity. The setup for the operation cannot begin before the preceding operation has been completed.

7. Fixed Time Setup Only Overlap.  The elapsed time of the operation is independent of the order quantity.  The setup may be performed before the previous operation is completed.
