Miscellaneous Cost Rate Code

The Miscellaneous Cost Rate Code is used in the calculation of a part's total unit cost in the Product Costing module.  The Rate Code is used in conjunction with the Miscellaneous Cost.

C - Memo Charge.  The Memo Charge may be used for documentation of a miscellaneous charge, but the cost will be not be included in the total unit cost for the part.

M - Variable Material Cost.  The Miscellaneous Cost is added to the material portion of the total unit cost.

L - Variable Labor Cost.  The Miscellaneous Cost is added to the labor portion of the total unit cost.

O - Variable Overhead Cost.  The Miscellaneous Cost is added to the overhead portion of the total unit cost.

X - Fixed Material Cost.  The Miscellaneous Cost is assumed to be a fixed cost per manufacturing order.  To compute a unit cost, the Miscellaneous Cost is divided by the Average Order Quantity for the part and then is added to the material portion of the total unit cost.

Y - Fixed Labor Cost.  The Miscellaneous Cost is divided by the Average Order Quantity for the part and then is added to the labor portion of the total unit cost.

Z - Fixed Overhead Cost.  The Miscellaneous Cost is divided by the Average Order Quantity for the part and then is added to the overhead portion of the total unit cost.
