Menu Group

A menu group is a collection of related programs, each of which performs a business function.  This field identifies the menu group where the menu being maintained will appear.  The following validation is performed on this field.  

• The menu group must be defined on Reference File category 098 (Category Maintenance Areas).
• If you are in change mode, the menu group cannot be changed if a menu security officer is assigned to it on the Security Master File.  

If you change the menu group for a menu, all menu security officers assigned to the new menu group are granted authority to all of the options on the menu that you are maintaining.
