Leadtime Code

Defines the method used to compute total leadtime for one level of the bill of material for a given part.  Valid values are:

F - Fixed lead time.  Lead time is independent of order quantity and uses the value of Fixed Leadtime Days.

V - Variable lead time.  Lead time for the part is computed as orders are raised as follows:

Lead Time = (Setup Days + (Run Days Per Piece X Order Quantity) + Transit Days +

Fixed Leadtime Days.

The leadtime parameters entered for the part should define one standard batch of the part; leadtime may also be defined operation by operation for each routing step, in the Manufacturing Engineering module.  The leadtime defined at the part level is used in the Master Scheduling and Requirements Planning modules to calculate start date requirements for orders.  The leadtime defined at the routing level is used in Shop Floor and Capacity Planning calculations.  The Lead Time Generation facility may be used to calculate and, optionally, to update the part's leadtime, using the routing definition.
