Issue Code
Issue Code
Defines the material issue method for a part. Valid codes are:
R - Requisition
S - Simultaneous Issue and Receipt ("Backflush")
T - JIT Multi-Level Backflushing
If 'S' is defined for a part, Inventory Control will automatically record a material issue for the part when a receipt is entered against a manufacturing order for which the part is a component. If 'R' is defined, you must record each issue of material with a separate transaction. The Simultaneous Issue and Receipt feature is useful for high-volume, low-cost items such as nuts, bolts, and screws. Lot-controlled parts may not have an issue code of 'S'.
If 'T' is defined for a JIT part, Just-in-Time will automatically record a flow receipt or a stock transfer (depending on its part type) for this part when a flow receipt or a manufacturing order receipt is entered against its parent. The multi-level backflushing feature is useful for high-volume, low-cost items that have no work-in-process (WIP) inventory. Parts with an issue code of 'T' cannot be lot controlled or deduct components.
