Corporate Customer Number

The corporate customer structure is used in OP and AR for contract pricing, credit checking, and payment application.  It must be defined as a bill-to customer number.  For all bill-to entities within the corporate structure, you specify the corporate customer number on the Billing Information screen in Customer Master Maintenance.  Contract prices are maintained through the Customer/ Contract Price Maintenance conversation in OP.  If price information is defined for a corporate customer, that price will be used for all subsidiary customers, unless a separate price is negotiated for a specific customer/ item.

Corporate credit checking can be used for two types of checks: accounts receivable overdue and credit limit.  If A/R days is used to check accounts receivable overdue, the oldest item for each subsidiary is compared to the limit defined for the corporate customer.  If any subsidiary exceeds the limit, the sales order is placed on credit hold.  When A/R amount is used instead of A/R days, the total past due amount is calculated for all subsidiaries and compared to the limit for the corporate customer.  When corporate credit limit checking is performed, the total commitment for all subsidiaries is calculated and compared to the credit limit defined for the corporate customer.  When defining the corporate customer, you should set the limits to apply to all subsidiaries.

During payment application, you can view a list of all bill-to customers associated with a single corporate customer.  This simplifies the process of applying a payment received from the corporate entity.
