Container

Containers are used in a flow (JIT) environment to store material used at or produced by a manufacturing cell.  They are defined on the Container Master File within Design Engineering.  On that file, each container is assigned a unique container number, which is used to identify it throughout the system.

The primary container used to store a part can be defined on the Part Master File.  The CONBON module uses container information to calculate card quantities.  The JIT module uses the information to monitor the flow of materials during production.
