Book Code
Book Code
A two byte alphanumeric field. It is used to classify General Ledger journal entries into individual books. When journal numbers are assigned by the system, the book code is also used to create the next journal number.
On Reference File category 133, you specify whether book codes are ever used in the system. On category 132, you specify whether book codes are used at a particular company/location. If this flag is Yes, the user can choose whether or not to enter a code. If the bookcode is not entered, the default code is used. If the flag is No, book codes are not used.
A default book code can be set up on Reference File category 135 for each conversation and bank code.
