This screen allows you to request the Forecast Consumption Generation, which reflects forecast consumption for a part in either a plant or a company/warehouse (depending on the option selected in Reference File category D86, Forecast Consumption Level). Depending on the option that you select in the RP Run Mode field, the generation can reflect either actual information or simulated information.
PLANT
Required. This field is used to identify the plant in which forecast consumption will be done. The plant must be valid, and you must be authorized to the manufacturing company/warehouse associated with the plant (Reference File category 409). Defaults to the plant assigned to your user ID.
RP RUN MODE
Required. If you want your actual schedule to consume your forecast, enter A (actual) in this field. If you want your simulated schedule to consume your forecast, enter S (simulated) in this field. If you leave the Part Number field blank, then this will be the RP run mode value for all request records written in the given plant.
PART NUMBER
Optional. The forecast consumption will be run for a specific part number in either the plant or in the company/warehouse, depending on which information you requested. If you do not enter a part number, all part types, except the following listed, will be selected and written to the request field. This may be time consuming, depending on the number of parts that are in a plant. If you are entering a specific part, you may not enter part numbers belonging to the following part types:
4 - Planning parts
5 - Reference parts
7 - Non-standard parts
C - Non-stocked parts
K - Bundled/kitted parts
In addition, the part number must be valid, and it must be an active part that is not standard master scheduled (demand code = M).
REQUESTOR
Optional. This is the person who is requesting the Forecast Consumption Request.
FORECAST CONSUMPTION PERIOD
Required. This field defines whether forecast will be consumed over weeks, months, days, or user-defined periods. If you leave the Part Number field blank, then this will be the forecast consumption period value for all request records written in the given plant. Valid values are:
1 - Weeks
2 - Months
3 - User-defined periods
4 - Days
Note: target inventory processing will not occur unless forecast consumption is requested. Also, overplanning may result if you do not request the forecast consumption period to be the same as the forecast period for the items being processed
COMMAND KEYS
