Purpose
The Part Depletion Analysis Report is generated when you enter a request on the Part Depletion Analysis Request screen, RP330S01. This report will list the projected date of inventory depletion for parts that have been designated as going obsolete.
When you the submit the request, the Depletion Report Request file is retrieved to determine if there are any records for the plant that was entered. If so, the processing continues by reading the Part Depletion Detail file to determine if there were any parts requested for analysis. This record includes a field that indicates whether you wish to analyze the part at this time. If the flag is set to No, the part will be printed on the report with a message.
If the flag is set to Yes, a depletion date will be calculated for the part. The depletion date will be calculated by calling the Requirements Review program, RP800E, in a special mode. The program will pass back either an error indicator, or a depletion date and related information. This program will then format the report with the calculated information. The Depletion program, RP107E, will then update the net change flag on the part to "Replan", so that planned orders will be deleted for the part when RP/MS is run next. This feature is useful to rid the system of planned orders for the obsolete part assuming the product structure changes were made for the new component or orders are now being taken the new end item.
