This screen is used to define simulation requests for labor and burden costs. Four types of simulation parameters may be requested:
o A percentage change in all labor rates
o A percentage change in all burden rates
o A percentage change in all workcenter rates associated with a specified rate type
o An actual rate for a specified workcenter/rate type combination.
PLANT
Display Only. The simulation will affect the cost of parts in this plant.
ALL LABOR RATES
Optional. Enter a positive percentage to simulate an increase in the labor rates of all workcenters; enter a negative percentage (positive number followed by a negative sign) to simulate a rate reduction.
ALL BURDEN RATES
Optional. Enter a positive percentage to simulate an increase in the burden rates of all workcenters; enter a negative percentage (positive number followed by a negative sign) to simulate a rate reduction.
RATE TYPES
Optional. Enter a workcenter, a rate type and an hourly rate. The workcenter must be an active, non-miscellaneous workcenter. The workcenter/rate code combination must be an existing relationship.
If a workcenter is affected by more than one simulation parameter, the following priority sequence is used in the simulated cost generation:
1. Single workcenter/rate transactions
2. Percentage by rate type
3. All labor and burden percentage.
RATE CODE
Display only. A three-character code used to identify a cost element. All cost elements that can be maintained on the Workcenter Rates Maintenance File are displayed on this screen; use the roll keys to scroll through the list of rates.
To change the unit cost of all rates associated with one rate code, type a number in the corresponding Percent Change field. Type a positive number to inflate the costs and a positive number followed by a negative sign to reduce them.
Cost elements are defined on Reference File category C17. They are associated with workcenters on the Workcenter Rates File.
RATE DESCRIPTION
Display only. Text describing this cost element. Cost elements and their descriptions are defined on Reference File category C17.
RATE CODE PERCENTAGE
Optional. The percentage by which the corresponding rate code should be inflated or reduced. All workcenters with a rate associated with the rate code will be affected by the simulation. To inflate the rates, enter a positive number. To reduce the rates, enter a positive number followed by a negative sign. To leave the rates as they are, leave the zero ( the default value).
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Update the simulation parameters.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F7 - Display the Cost Simulation Material screen.
F8 - Display the Cost Generation/Simulation Request Entry screen.
F9 - Display the Workcenter Rate Table screen.
