This screen allows you to define or modify the description of a JIT operation.
PLANT
Display only. The plant where this routing is used. It was entered on the Function Select screen.
PART NUMBER
Display only. The part that is manufactured using this routing. It was entered on the Function Select screen.
OPERATION NUMBER
Display only. The unique, sequential number that identifies this routing step. It was entered on the Function Select screen.

BATCH QUANTITY
Display only. Not displayed for parts with a batch quantity of 1. The batch quantity is the standard quantity of an item that is produced in each production run.
OPERATION DESCRIPTION
Required. Used to describe the operation; appears on the shop paperwork and on various inquiries and reports. Extended description may be entered using routing comments (Option 7 from the Routing Maintenance Menu).
WORKCENTER NUMBER
Required. The number of the workcenter in which the operation is performed. Workcenter numbers that are numeric and greater than or equal to 900 are reserved as miscellaneous cost workcenters, and are not valid for operations on this screen.
OPERATION OFFSET DAYS
Optional. Number of days that the part is worked on before being received by its parent part.
LABOR HOURS
Optional. The standard number of labor hours which contributes to the cost of each part produced in the workcenter.
MACHINE LOAD
Optional. The standard amount of machine load which contributes to the cost of each part produced in the workcenter.
SENSITIVITY FLAG
Only valid for operation types 6-7 and for parts made in batches. An 'N' indicates that the load is truly fixed. A 'Y' indicates the load is only fixed as a function of batch quantity. The field will default to 'N' if left blank and only appears for parts that are produced in batches.
SENSITIVITY FACTOR
Only valid for operation types 6-7 for parts made in batches that are sensitive (see Sensitivity Flag field). Factor is used to determine the threshold at which another batch will be needed. This field will default to zero and only appears for parts that are produced in batches.
ENGINEERING CHANGE ORDER - IN
Required if Reference File category N38 (Routing ECO Date Option) is 1 - ECO Required. Identifies the ECO that brings an operation into effectivity. If entered, must be defined on the ECO file.
EFFECTIVITY-IN DATE
Optional. The date on which the operation first becomes effective. If field is left blank, but the ECO field has been entered, the date is defaulted from the ECO file. The date is system maintained if Reference File category N38 is 1 or 2.
ENGINEERING CHANGE ORDER - OUT
Required if Reference File category N38 (Routing ECO Date Option) is 1 - ECO Required. Identifies the engineering change that causes the operation to be removed from the routing. If entered, must be defined on the ECO file.
EFFECTIVITY-OUT DATE
Optional. The date after which the operation is no longer effective. If field is left blank, but the ECO field has been entered, the date is defaulted from the ECO file. The date is system maintained if Reference File category N38 is 1 or 2.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Update changes.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program without update.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F9 - Enter the Routing Retrieval Inquiry without updating changes.
F10 - Return to the Function Select screen without updating changes.
F11 - Enter the Bill of Documents Inquiry program.
F15 - Respecify part and operation numbers.
F19 - Enter Comment Maintenance screen without update.
