This screen is used to define the routing of one part by copying the routing of a similar part with a single transaction.  Copy routing can be done either from part to part or from part to several parts.  You may specify a specific range of operations to copy or you can select from a list of routings.  Once copied, the routing may be modified to reflect any difference from the copied routing.

PLANT

Display only.  The plant that contains the routing to be copied.  It was entered on the Function Select screen.

PART NUMBER - ROUTING TO BE COPIED

Required.  Enter the part number from which the routing is to be copied.  Must be an active manufacturing or transfer part with a routing.

EFFECTIVITY DATE - ROUTING TO BE COPIED

Required.  If a date is entered, only those operations that are effective on the selected date will be copied to the new routing.  If 'ALL' is entered, all operations will be copied to the new routing.  This date will be used to limit the operations to be copied or displayed.

PLANT - ROUTING TO BE CREATED

Optional.  The plant where the routing will be created.  It must exist on the Plant/Warehouse Description File.

PART NUMBER - ROUTING TO BE CREATED

Optional.  Must be an active manufacturing or transfer part in the specified plant and can have a routing as long as the operations of this part do not exist in the Part to be Copied within the operation range specified .  If not entered, then the Routing Copy Part Select screen will be displayed.

For example, if the From and To operation numbers specified are 010 to 090 and the Part to be Copied has a routing number 030 and the New Routing part has only one routing record operation 030, the part is considered invalid.  Even if the operation numbers are blanks, since routing 030 exists in both parts, this will be considered an invalid part.

ENGINEERING CHANGE ORDER - IN

Required if Reference File category N38 (Routing ECO Date Option) is 1 - ECO Required.  Identifies the ECO that brings an operation into effectivity.  If entered, must be defined on the ECO file.  If entered, the operations on the routing that is created will have this ECO.

ENGINEERING EFFECTIVITY DATE - IN

Optional.  If entered, the operations will have this date as their effectivity date.  If not entered and the copy date is ALL, the effectivity dates will be copied from the routing of the copied part.  If not entered and the copy date is entered, then the effectivity dates in the created routing will be blank.  The date is system maintained if Reference File category N38 is 1 or 2.  If field is left blank but the ECO field is entered, the date is defaulted from the ECO file.

FROM OPERATION NUMBER AND OPERATION LINE NUMBER

Optional.  The unique, sequential number assigned to the manufacturing, assembly, or miscellaneous cost step on the routing.  The first three digits define the operation number, the last two digits define the line number.  This field will be used to define the operation number from which a routing will be copied.  If maintenance code option '1' is selected, this field will be used along with the To Operation Number field to enter a range of operations to copy.  If maintenance code '2' is selected, this field will be used to select operations to be displayed.

TO OPERATION NUMBER AND OPERATION LINE NUMBER

Optional.  The unique, sequential number assigned to the manufacturing, assembly, or miscellaneous cost step on the routing.  The first three digits define the operation number, the last two digits define the line number.  This field will be used to define the operation to which a routing will be copied.  If maintenance code option '1' is selected, this field will be used along with the From Operation Number field to enter a range of operations to copy.  If maintenance code '2' is selected, this field will be used to select operations to be displayed.

MAINTENANCE CODE

Required.  Indicates how the copy routing will be performed.  Valid values are:

1 - Copy range of operations.  The following combinations exist for this option:

a - If the From and To fields are blank, the routing of one part will be copied to the routing of a similar part.

b - If the From field is blank and the To field is not blank, a copy will be performed from the first operation of the Copy Part to the operation corresponding to the specified To operation.

c - If the From field is not blank and the To field is blank, a copy will be done from the operation corresponding to the specified From Operation to the last operation of the Copy Part.

d - If both the From and To fields are not blank, the copy will begin with the From Operation and end with the To Operation.

2 - Select from routing list which is of two types:  Routing list for an MRP part and a Routing list for a JIT part.  The following combinations exist for this option:

a - If the From and To fields are blank, all effective routing operations will be loaded.

b - If the From field is blank and the To field is entered, routing operations will be loaded from the first operation of the Copy part to the operation corresponding to the specified To Operation.

c - If the From field is not blank and the To field is blank, routing operations will begin at the specified From Operation and end with the last operation of the Copy Part.

d - If both the From and To fields are not blank, routing operations beginning with the From operation and ending with the To operation will be displayed.

DISPLAY ALTERNATES

Required if a maintenance code of '2' is entered; otherwise, its value is ignored.  Valid values are 'Y' and 'N'.  A value of 'Y' will display alternate operations on the Detail screen.

COMMAND KEYS

Enter - Update changes only if maintenance code is '1' and part to be created is entered.  Otherwise, appropriate screen is displayed.  If maintenance code is '1' and part to be created is blanks, Copy Routing Part Select is displayed.  If maintenance code is '2', Routing list is displayed depending upon the production type.

F2    - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered.  Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen.  When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.

F3    - Exit program without update.

F4    - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned.  If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.

F9    - Enter the Routing Retrieval Inquiry without updating changes.

F10   - Return to the Function Select screen without updating changes.
