This screen is used to associate descriptive comments with an operation. The comments appear on manufacturing order paperwork and may be reviewed through inquiries.
PLANT
Display only. The plant where this routing is used. It was entered on the Function Select screen.
PART NUMBER
Display only. The item that is manufactured using this routing. It was entered on the Function Select screen.
OPERATION NUMBER AND OPERATION LINE NUMBER
Display only. The unique, sequential number assigned to the manufacturing, assembly, or miscellaneous cost step on the routing. The first three digits are the operation number; the last two digits are the line number. The line number is blank for JIT parts.
OPERATION DESCRIPTION
Display only. Text that helps identify the operation. It is entered on the detail screen.
COMMENT NUMBER
Display only. The unique, sequential number that identifies the comment text. To change or delete an existing comment, enter this number on the maintenance line at the bottom of the screen.
COMMENT TEXT
Display only. The comment text appears on shop paperwork and on routing reports and inquiries. To change this text, enter the comment number on the maintenance line at the bottom of the screen and specify a maintenance code of C.
MACHINE NUMBER
Display only. The machine used at this operation. This field is not displayed for a comment associated with a miscellaneous cost workcenter.
TOOL NUMBER
Display only. The tooling associated with the operation. This field is not displayed for a comment associated with a miscellaneous cost workcenter.
LINE COMMENT NUMBER
Required. The unique number that identifies a comment. The comment number also indicates the sequence that should be used to display or print the comments. To add a new comment, enter a new number between 1 and 99 and type an A in the maintenance code field. To change or delete a comment, type its comment number in this field and enter the appropriate maintenance code.
MAINTENANCE CODE
Required. Must be one of these codes:
A - Addition
C - Change
D - Deletion
LINE COMMENT TEXT
Optional. The comment text appears on the shop paperwork and on routing reports and inquiries.
LINE MACHINE NUMBER
Optional. The machine used at this operation. This field is not displayed for comments associated with miscellaneous cost workcenters. You can use the Prompt function key to view a list of values on the Machine/Tool File. However, the value you enter in this field does not have to exist on that file.
LINE TOOL NUMBER
Optional. The tooling used at this operation. This field is not displayed for comments associated with a miscellaneous cost workcenter. You can use the Prompt function key to view values on the Machine/Tool File. However, the value you enter in the field does not have to exist on the file.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Update new or changed comments. If you press a command key to move to another screen before pressing Enter, your changes will not be updated.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program without update.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F9 - Enter the Routing Retrieval Inquiry without updating changes.
F10 - Return to the Function Select screen without updating changes.
F11 - Enter the Bill of Documents Inquiry program.
F12 - Enter the Bill of Documents Maintenance program.
F19 - Update comments and return to the previous screen.
