This screen is used to select a maintenance function for defining the operations that are required to manufacture a part.
PLANT
Required. Used to identify the plant in which maintenance will be done. The plant must be valid, and you must be authorized to the manufacturing company/warehouse associated with the plant (Reference File category 409). Defaults to the plant assigned to your user ID, but may be changed by pressing F17.
PART NUMBER
Required. Must be an existing manufactured or transfer part.
OPERATION NUMBER AND OPERATION LINE NUMBER
Required. The Operation Number is a unique identification of the step and defines the sequence in which the steps are performed within the routing. The first three digits define the operation number, the last two digits define the line number. Use a line number of '00' to define a standard operation and any non-zero number for an alternative operation. The line number field must be left blank for JIT parts.
MAINTENANCE CODE
The Maintenance Code allows you to select the function you wish to perform for the routing step.
Options 1 and 2 allow you to add a new routing step for a part. Option 2 allows you to add a miscellaneous operation, such as a subcontracted process or a miscellaneous cost. Option 1 should be used to add a standard or alternative operation.
Option 3 allows you to modify a routing step. The workcenter for the operation must not be a miscellaneous workcenter (i.e. workcenter number cannot be greater than 899 and numeric).
Option 4 allows you to modify a miscellaneous operation. The workcenter for the operation must be greater than 899 and numeric.
Option 5 allows you to delete a step from the routing for a part.
Option 6 allows you to delete all steps from the routing for a part.
Option 7 allows you to define comments related to the routing. You can also define comments while working in options 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Option 8 allows you to define a routing by copying the routing steps from another part.
