TOTAL MISCELLANEOUS COST

The total cost for the part/workcenter is stored on the Miscellaneous Cost Header File. This cost is not used to calculate extended prices for phantom purchase orders associated with this part and workcenter. Extended prices are calculated during purchase order maintenance based on quotes defined in the Purchasing module. It will, however, be used by the Product Costing module when "rolling up" costs associated with the part. Note that the total cost will be interpreted differently depending on the rate code. Based on the rate code, the cost will up into the labor, material, or overhead bucket for the part. If the cost is fixed, the total cost will be divided by the average order quantity to give the cost per piece. Variable costs are considered to be total cost per piece. If the rate cost is C - Memo charge, the cost will not be included in the item's total cost.
RATE CODE
Required. Indicates how Product Costing should interpret the total miscellaneous cost for the part/workcenter. Valid values are:
X - Fixed material M - Variable material
Y - Fixed labor L - Variable labor
Z - Fixed overhead O - Variable overhead
C - Memo charge The rate code cannot be X, Y, or Z for a JIT part.
