Workcenters and Routings
Workcenters
Are defined as either standard or miscellaneous cost (outside processed) workcenters. Standard workcenters may be defined as machine or labor paced; this affects the scheduling of routing operations, the recording of time, and performance reporting. Efficiency and utilization percentages are expressed for standard workcenters, and are compared with calculated percentages in workcenter performance reporting.
Routings
Define the operations to be performed in the manufacture of an item. Standard information including piece or batch rate, setup time, crew sizes, and machine and tool numbers may be maintained.
