This screen allows you to enter both direct labor hours (time spent on producing a part) and indirect labor hours (time spent on labor that supports production, such as setup time) for the specified employee and shift. This information is used by the Inventory Accounting module to determine costs associated with Just-In-Time part production.
PLANT
Required. Used to identify the plant in which maintenance/inquiry will be done. The plant must be valid, and you must be authorized to the manufacturing company/warehouse associated with the plant (Reference File Category 409). Defaults to the plant assigned to your user ID.
EMPLOYEE
Display only. This field indicates the employee for which employee hours are being entered.
SHIFT
Display only. This field indicates the shift for which employee hours are being entered.
TRANSACTION TYPE
Required. Enter the type of labor hours being reported. Valid transaction types are:
D - Direct labor hours
I - Indirect labor hours
WORKCENTER NUMBER
Required. Enter the number of the workcenter where the labor reported was performed. This number must be an active work center on the Workcenter File. Also, this number must not identify an outside processing workcenter. (Outside processing workcenters have workcenter numbers that are numeric and greater than 900.)
PART NUMBER
Required for direct hours transactions. Enter the part for which employee hours were performed. This field must be left blank for indirect transactions. The part must be active on the Part Master File, and must have a production type of JIT.
INDIRECT HOURS CODE
Required for indirect hours transactions. Enter the task on which the reported indirect labor hours were performed. Valid indirect hours codes are user-defined on the Reference File (category 458). This field must be left blank for direct hours transactions.
FROM TIME
Required. The time of day when the specific task was begun. This value must be a number within the valid range of time on the 24-hour clock. The format is hours:minutes.
TO TIME
Required. The time of day when the performance of the specified task was stopped. This value must be a number within the valid range of time on the 24-hour clock. The to time must not be the same as the from time. The format is hours:minutes.
MACHINE NUMBER
Required when reporting direct labor hours at machine-paced workcenters. Optional when reporting indirect labor hours or hours worked at labor-paced workcenters. Enter the number of the machine used by the specified employee. If entered, the machine number must exist on the Machine/Tool File.
TRANSACTION DATE
Optional. Enter the date for which the labor hours are being entered. If this date is not entered, it defaults to the transaction date from the Function Select screen.
REVERSAL CODE
Optional. Enter 'R' if this transaction will back-out a previously entered transaction. Otherwise, leave blank.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Process transaction.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program without update.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F9 - Enter the Employee Time Recording inquiry without processing the transaction.
F10 - Return to the Function Select screen without processing the transaction.
F15 - Clear the detail screen for new data to be entered.
