This screen allows you to maintain the production schedule for the specified production center on a daily/weekly basis. Once the desired schedule has been determined, the affected daily/weekly production quantities and appropriate requirements are updated.
For a weekly request, if a part schedule for a particular week is maintained, the quantity is scheduled entirely on the first day of that week, rather than averaging the amount evenly over each day of the week.
The present daily production and availability quantities will be initially displayed for the first four days starting with the entered begin date. For a weekly transaction, quantities will be initially displayed starting with the week specified by the begin date. The quantity over or under schedule is also initially displayed for each part. Quantities beyond the four days or weeks can be displayed by pressing F6-Next Screen.
Note that if revision levels have become effective since the last Master Scheduling/Requirements Planning run, requirements for components on the current revision are displayed from the last update request. To ensure that new revision levels will be taken into account for all future requirements, rerun Master Scheduling and Requirements Planning.
If a part has a part status that is not valid for flow authorizations, that part will still be loaded into the subfile, but will be protected, so that its load may not be changed. However, if load previously existed for the part, that load will still be included in the calculation of total load for the production center.
NOTE: If the over/under bucket quantity indicates that over-receipts exist and today's schedule is changed, you will receive a warning message (MPW2336 — Receipts exist – Over/Under bucket might be changed). This message indicates that changing today's schedule might cause the over/under bucket quantity to be zeroed out in some cases.
PLANT
Display only. Used to identify the plant in which maintenance or inquiry will be done. The plant must be defined on the Warehouse Description File, and you must be authorized to the manufacturing company/warehouse associated with the plant (Reference File category 409). Defaults to the plant assigned to your user ID.
PRODUCTION CENTER
Display only. The production center for which the production schedule is being maintained.
SYNCHRONIZATION DATE
Display only. Synchronization Date is used to calculate the over/under schedule amount for each part. Over/under is calculated by summing the amounts over/under schedule starting from the Synch Date through, but not including, today's date.
DAILY CAPACITY
Display only. The total daily capacity for the production center being maintained. For weekly maintenance, the capacity is multiplied by the number of workdays in the given week to calculate Percent Capacity, which is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
UNIT OF MEASURE
Display only. The stockkeeping unit of measure for the part. It is retrieved from the Part Master File (DE100M).
BEGIN DATE
Display only. The first date for which the production schedule will be maintained.
END DATE
Display only. The last date for which the production schedule will be maintained.
PART NUMBER
Display only. The parts produced at the production center for which production schedule maintenance may be performed. These parts are always valid manufacturing or build-through parts with a production type of JIT. The number of parts being displayed can be reduced by selecting various criteria for part display. Multi-level backflushed parts are displayed in reverse image. This reflects that the past due production quantity may be insignificant as the reporting of its completion will be delayed until the end product is completed.
FIRM DATE
Display only. All production through this date will have a status of firm. The Firm Horizon Date is displayed by pressing F12-Fold Truncate.
UNIT OF MEASURE
Display only. Unit of measure for each part.
DAILY/WEEKLY PRODUCTION
Optional. The daily/weekly supply quantity is shown for the current production schedule in daily/weekly buckets. The schedule is retrieved for all parts scheduled within the current schedule period, based on the selection criteria entered on the Function Select screen. This field can be maintained by the user, but only for parts that have a part status that is valid for flow authorizations.
The over/under production quantity is calculated by subtracting a flow authorization receipt quantity from the part's expected production quantity. If this quantity has an asterisk (*) next to it, then the part's scheduled production in this production center is greater than the receipt quantity, which means that this part is behind schedule. If no asterisk is displayed next to the quantity, then more parts have been received in this production center than were scheduled for production. This means that the part is ahead of production.
DAILY/WEEKLY AVAILABILITY
Display only. When Calculate Availability is requested from the Function Select screen, the amounts available for manufacturing for each part are displayed. Otherwise, the amounts will be formatted to zeroes. Availability information is displayed by pressing F12-Fold Truncate.
o The available total includes all inventory at the manufacturing warehouse in balance types available for planning.
o Sources of supply are manufacturing orders, purchase orders, flow authorizations, supplying transfer orders.
o Sources of demand are component requirements, sales orders, flow requirements, receiving transfer orders offset releases, and part delivery point relationships.
o This availability figure does not include the forecast amount.
o This figure does not include non-posted changes to the production schedule.
o If a balance type is available for both manufacturing and distribution, and sales orders are not included in demand (as specified on the Warehouse Description File), then inventory reserved for customer orders is not included in the total.
o Distribution inventory at associated distribution warehouses is included in the total if the Available for Planning flag for the warehouse (on the Warehouse Description File) is Yes.
o Available inventory is netted against demand from multiple sources. Sales orders are included in this demand if they are sourced from manufacturing balances or if the Sales Order Planning flag on the warehouse's Warehouse Description File is Yes.
PRODUCTION CENTER TOTAL LOAD
Display only. The daily/weekly production multiplied by each part's run units and accumulated for each day/week within the production center.
PERCENT CAPACITY
Display only. Total load at the production center on a given day/week, as a percentage of daily/weekly production center capacity. If daily/weekly capacity is zero, asterisks are displayed in this field.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Process request.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program without submitting transaction. If this screen was accessed from another conversation, pressing F3 will return you to that original conversation.
F5 - Shift the detail screen to the left in order to display the previous schedule period.
F6 - Shift the detail screen to the right in order to maintain production in the next schedule period.
F9 - Enter the Production Schedule Inquiry Program without updating this transaction.
F10 - Used to return to the Function Select screen without updating this transaction.
F11 - Enter the Time Phased Part Availability Inquiry Program without updating this transaction.
F12 - Alternate between displaying only production quantities and both production quantities and availability quantities.
F15 - Redisplay the screen with the original data.
F16 - Closes all flow authorizations and their associated flow requirements for all parts in the production center that have past due production. Synchronization is not permitted if the start date on the Function Select screen is greater than today's date. When F16 is pressed, the over/under bucket for all parts in the subfile is set to zero, but the flow authorizations and flow requirements are not actually closed until an update function key is pressed (F22 or F23). Pending synchronization may be canceled before an update key is pressed by pressing F16-Cancel Synchro.
F22 - Update the Production Schedule File online with the data entered. The Audit Trail File (JT100BP) is also updated to record data base activity.
F23 - Update the Production Schedule File asynchronously with the data entered. The Audit Trail File is also updated to record data base activity.
F24 - Display additional command keys available from this screen.
