Component Offset days are the number of days from the issue of the component part to the receipt of the parent part.  This is the lead time for the parent/component relationship.

Deduct Operation definition allows the issue of component parts before a completed parent has been received.  In this way, inventories of component parts of parents with long lead times are more accurately reflected.
