Part Master
Production Type is defined for each part as either MRPII or JIT, to specify the method used for planning and production. The production type appears on MAC-PAC screens and reports.
Relief Type and Locations indicate when and from where components are issued to parent items. Parts may be backflushed, issued at deduct point operations, or lot issued. These field(s) may also be defined for alternative production centers on the Part/Production Center Relationship File.
CONBON Control Code indicates the type of CONBON system used to control part production and movement. No-card, dual-card and single-card environments are supported. These field(s) may also be defined for alternative production centers on the Part/Production Center Relationship File.
Inventory Netting Flag relates to production planning. When the flag is set to Y (yes), inventory balances existing on the Warehouse Balance File are taken into account during production planning. When the flag is set to N (no), these balances are ignored.
Production Center is a manufacturing cell where JIT parts are produced. Production center records are used in establishing production schedules and in generating CONBON cards for JIT parts. Each JIT part may be produced in multiple production centers, and several different JIT parts may be produced in any one production center. The production center typically represents the series of workcenters that would be defined in the routing of a JIT part or family of parts (manufacturing routings are optional for JIT parts).
Container Information defined for each part includes a container code and container quantity. The container code identifies the standard container to be used for transporting a part. The container quantity indicates the number of parts that can be carried in the standard container. Once these values have been defined, MAC-PAC transactions involving part quantities can be specified in terms of a number of parts or a number of containers. These field(s) may also be defined for alternative production centers on the Part/Production Center Relationship File.
Part Types defined for JIT parts are the same as those for MRPII parts. They include purchased, manufactured, raw material, planning, reference, and build-thru. A JIT part cannot be a non-standard part.
