STOCKKEEPING UNIT OF MEASURE

The unit of measure in which the part is stocked.

ABC CLASS

Required.  Must be a valid ABC class with a value from A - E.  The default value is A when adding a new warehouse balance.  To obtain more information, type an 'X' and press F11.

LOCATION CONTROL

Required.  Must be Y (Yes) or N (No).  If Y is entered, then a preferred area is required.  If N is entered, the preferred area must be blank.  If Y is entered, the system will inform users when they are receiving inventory into a location that already contains an inventory balance.  Therefore, additional information will be provided, aiding the planner in controlling inventory.

CONTROL GROUP

Required.  Must be Y (Yes) or N (No).  If Y is entered, it causes this part to be included in every cycle count schedule worksheet generation for this warehouse, regard less of the part's ABC classification or last count date.  The default value is N.

PREFERRED AREA

Required only if the Location Control field is Y (Yes); otherwise, this field must be blank.  Used to indicate the preferred location in which to receive inventory .  This location may not start with a blank.

MANUAL SELECT

Required.  Must be Y (Yes) or N (No).  If Y is entered, it causes this part to be included in the next cycle count schedule generation for this warehouse.  The value will automatically be reset to N when an adjustment is made to the balance through the Cycle Count Adjustment conversation.  The flag may be manually set to N if no adjustment is required.

COUNT INTERVAL

Optional.  This field is used to determine the date of the next cycle count when this part is counted.  The interval is added to the date when the part is counted to determine the next date for counting. If entered , this value will override the interval entered through warehouse description maintenance facility for the ABC class relating to this part.

DATE OF NEXT CYCLE COUNT

Required.  This value is calculated as part of the cycle counting process when cycle count adjustments are made by adding the count interval for the part to the current date.  It can be overridden here.

TOLERANCE PERCENT

Optional.  This value can be used as a check when cycle count adjustments are made for this part.  The adjustment quantity is divided by the activity since last count and compared to this value.  If the calculated value is higher than the tolerance percent the adjustment will not be allowed.  Tolerance checking can be overridden by using the default cycle count adjustment codes defined when cycle counting is installed.  Tolerance percentages are also specified through the warehouse description maintenance facility by ABC class and will be used if no value is specified here.

TOLERANCE VALUE

Optional.  This value can also be used as a check when cycle count adjustments are made.  The value of the adjustment is compared to this value.  If the calculated value is higher than the tolerance value the adjustment will not be allowed.  Tolerance checking can be over ridden by using the default cycle count adjustment codes defined when cycle counting is installed.  Tolerance amounts can also be specified through the warehouse description maintenance facility by ABC class and will be used if no value is entered here.
