This screen displays accumulated availability records (receipts and issues) for a specified part based on its component requirements, manufacturing orders, purchase orders, transfer orders, customer orders, Synchro offset releases, Synchro delivery requests, production schedules, and production schedule requirements for a day or a week. The balances on component requirement records are accumulated and time-phased to display shortage conditions. This information can be displayed for a specific company/warehouse or across all company/warehouses, depending on whether the company/warehouse fields on the Function Select screen were entered or left blank. This information may also be displayed for a specific job number/part number combination.
If the part specified on the Function Select screen is job controlled, and a valid job number was also specified, then the job number, description, and status will appear.
If the company/warehouse fields were left blank, then only the part description and its unit of measure will be displayed.
COMPANY/WAREHOUSE
Display only. The company/warehouse in which the inquiry is being made.
HORIZON DATE
Display only. Only data up to the horizon date is loaded on this screen. If the date is not entered on the Function Select screen, it defaults to the last date on the calendar file for the company/warehouse. If the company/warehouse is not entered on the Function Select screen, the date defaults to the largest last date for all company/warehouse combinations.
JOB NUMBER/JOB DESCRIPTION
Display only. Only availability records associated with this job are displayed.
JOB STATUS CODE
Display only. The status of the specified job. Possible values are:
O - Open
C - Closed
Z - Costing closed
Additional job status codes may be defined on Reference File category D48.
PART NUMBER/PART DESCRIPTION
Display only. This field displays the part number and its corresponding description for which the inquiry was requested.
UNIT OF MEASURE
Display only. The unit of measure is which the requested part is stocked.
PRODUCTION TYPE
Display only. The production type associated with the part, either MRP or JIT, as defined on Reference File category C01.
PLANNING POLICY
Display only. The planning policy associated with the specified part. Planning policy codes are defined on Reference File category 404.
LEADTIME DAYS
Display only. The portion of the days that it takes to manufacture or purchase the part that does not vary with order quantity.
BACKORDERED QUANTITY
Display only. The total of backorder quantities on all open sales orders for the specified part in the specified warehouse.
TOTAL BALANCE - MANUFACTURING
Display only. For the manufacturing warehouse, this field is calculated as follows:
Inventory in any balance type available for manufacturing (Order Planning flag = Y)
Plus Work-in-process inventory
Plus Distribution inventory held at any distribution warehouses associated with the plant, if the warehouses are considered available for planning (as specified on the Warehouse Description File).
Minus Inventory reserved for sales orders if distribution sales orders are not available for planning (as specified on the Warehouse Balance File).
If the part is potency controlled, the quantity in this field is displayed in reverse image and reflects the balance in terms of potent units. Potent units are calculated as follows:
SKU for each balance type on each part/lot/location multiple location record
Multiplied by The actual potency on the lot control master record for the part/lot
Divided by The standard potency on the Lot Control master record for the part/lot
This field may also include target inventory or forecast demand if these options were specified on the Function Select screen.
If negative inventory is being ignored (inventory netting flag is set to 'I'), then this field will be displayed in reverse image and will reflect the real-time amount (not zero). However, the supply planned for this part and displayed real-time, will not account for negative inventory that existed at the time of planning.
TOTAL BALANCE - DISTRIBUTION
Display only. For a distribution warehouse, this field contains the sum of the inventory held in balance types considered available for distribution. This quantity is displayed in the order unit of measure.
ALLOCATED QUANTITY - MANUFACTURING
Display only. The quantity of the allocated inventory required to satisfy existing open orders regardless of horizon. Allocated quantity includes the following:
o The quantity allocated for filling open manufacturing orders, transfer orders (relief code = 'M'), and sales orders (MFG, relief code = 'M').
o The quantity allocated for filling flow authorizations (this quantity is updated when a part availability order shortage report is requested).
o The quantity allocated for filling Synchro offset releases and delivery point backlogs (this quantity is taken into account only if the user has set the Synchro Allocated Quantity Update flag to 'Yes' on the Daily Batch Parameter category G26).
The system retrieves these quantities from the Warehouse Balance file.
AVAILABLE QUANTITY - DISTRIBUTION
Display only. This is the quantity of inventory available for this item at the sourcing warehouse, taking into account inventory reserved for filling other sales orders and the quantity on backorder. This quantity is displayed in the order unit of measure.
RESERVED QUANTITY
Display only. Used to define the quantity that is presently reserved for release to sales orders and transfer orders using relief code = 'D'.
ON-ORDER QUANTITY - DISTRIBUTION
Display only. This is the quantity of this item currently on-order for the sourcing warehouse; for example, outstanding purchase orders for the item. This quantity is displayed in the order unit of measure.
ON-ORDER QUANTITY - MANUFACTURING
Display only. The quantity that has been ordered but not received against firm and open manufacturing and purchase orders. Not displayed for job-controlled parts.
SCHEDULE/SUPPLY QUANTITY
Display only. The quantity currently scheduled or requisitioned in a supply order.
UNRESERVED QUANTITY - DISTRIBUTION
Display only. Displays the quantity that is not presently reserved for release.
DATE
Display only. The date indicates the week start date or the day, depending on the type of inquiry (daily or weekly) requested on the Function Select screen.
TRANSACTION QUANTITY
Display only. The transaction quantity is the quantity that is expected to be received against manufacturing or purchase orders or to be issued to manufacturing or sales orders. Receipt quantities are deflated by the scrap factor to estimate yield. This quantity may also include target inventory or forecast demand if these options were specified on the Function Select screen.
ON-HAND QUANTITY - DISTRIBUTION
Display only. This figure is the expected on-hand inventory assuming a "worst case" scenario. If the transaction is expected to have a positive effect on inventory (e.g. PO Rcpts.), this balance will not reflect the expected positive effect on inventory. If the transaction is expected to have a negative effect on inventory (e.g. Sales Orders), this balance will reflect the expected negative effect.
ON-HAND QUANTITY - MANUFACTURING
Display only. This figure is the expected on-hand inventory resulting from the transaction. Manufacturing and purchase order receipts are not included in the calculation of on-hand inventory as the stock may not become available for use in manufacturing immediately upon receipt. This quantity may also include target inventory or forecast demand if these options were specified on the Function Select screen. Target inventory records will not, however, reduce the quantity in the projected inventory column like other requirements, because they are a time-phased restatement of the existing demand.
AVAILABLE QUANTITY (Distribution Warehouse)
Display only. This figure represents the inventory that is considered available for distribution resulting from the transaction. It is reduced by the amount of reserved inventory displayed in the Reserved Quantity field.
TOTAL - MANUFACTURING AVAILABLE
Display only. This figure represents the inventory that is considered to be available for planning for manufacturing. It includes On-Hand Quantity - Manufacturing, but also includes inventory that is not immediately available. This additional inventory may be stock that has been received but must be inspected or quarantined before it can be used. Manufacturing and Purchase Order Receipts are included in this balance. Allocated Quantities and Reserved Quantities reduce this balance. This quantity may also include target inventory or forecast demand if these options were specified on the Function Select screen. Target inventory records will not, however, reduce the quantity in the projected inventory column like other requirements, because they are a time-phased restatement of the existing demand.
SHORTAGE
Display only. This code indicates whether or not a shortage position has been detected for the part. Different codes indicate the severity of the shortage:
H - On-Hand Shortage - The inventory currently on-hand is insufficient to meet the requirement.
T - Manufacturing Available Shortage - The sum of the inventory on hand and available for planning is not sufficient to meet the requirement.
O - On-Order Shortage - The sum of the on-hand, available and projected receipts to that date is insufficient to meet the requirement.
