The Point of Use Stock Transfer conversation allows parts to be transferred from one location in a warehouse to a single location or multiple locations within the same warehouse. This transaction is especially useful in the area of receiving. A shipment of material can be transferred easily from the receiving dock to each of its points of use in a single transaction.
COMPANY/WAREHOUSE
Required. The company/warehouse in which the stock transfer will take place. If a default value has been assigned to you, this value is displayed. Otherwise, enter a valid company/warehouse that allows inventory movement transactions. The company/warehouse may be changed by pressing F17.
PART NUMBER
Required. Enter the number of the part to be transferred. The part must be active and must have a part type other than planning or reference. The part must exist on the Warehouse Balance File. The part must have a part status that is valid for inventory adjustments and stock transfers, as defined on Reference File category D88.
CONTROL QUANTITY
Required. Enter the number of parts to be transferred from the location specified in the From Stock Location field (see below). If there is not enough inventory in the sourcing location, a warning message will be displayed when you press Enter to process the transaction.
UNIT OF MEASURE
Required. Enter the unit of measure that applies to the quantity being transferred. This may be the purchasing, stockkeeping, selling, or pricing unit of measure.
FROM STOCK LOCATION
Required. Enter the location from which the part will be transferred. This must be a valid location on the Location Validation File. Must exist on Reference File category 005.
FROM BALANCE TYPE
Required. Enter the balance type from which parts are being transferred. Balance types are defined on the System Control File.
REVERSAL CODE
Optional. Enter R to reverse a previously entered transaction. The stock will be transferred from multiple locations to one location (the from location). Otherwise, leave blank.
LOT NUMBER
Required for lot-controlled parts. Must be left blank for parts that are non-lot controlled. This field is displayed only in lot-controlled environments. Enter the number of the lot to which the transferred parts belong. This field must be left blank for parts that are not lot controlled. If the lot is on hold, an error message is displayed and the lot number is reverse imaged. No inventory may be issued from or received into a lot that is on hold.
