The Configuration Cost Template Window allows you to more easily identify all fields that make up your configuration code and expanded configuration code. It splits up the codes into individual fields and allows you to perform searches on any or all of those fields in the 50-character configuration code. This window can be called on five modes: Search Mode, however, can only be called from Inventory Stock Status Function Select screen.
SEARCH MODE: Search mode allows you to use a wildcard character (*) to search the list of configuration codes for a specific code or group of codes. For example, if your code has an option of Color and you wish to see all the codes that are red, type RED in the color option and a wildcard character (*). The wildcard character can be typed in your search option or in any other option. The search will return all configuration codes with RED in the color option.
You may search without the wild card character if you search on all codes matching the first option. Suppose that COLOR is your first option. If you enter RED without an asterisk you will not only see every configuration code which begins with RED but all other configuration codes that follow it alphabetically in the file.
EXACT MODE (not including expanded configuration code): This exact mode allows you to enter specific configuration code options without entering them in exact positions. For example, assume you know a configuration code and do not wish to worry about which position the Color option goes in. Press F23=Cfg Template and fill in all options. When you press ENTER, the configuration code will be filled with all the options in the correct positions.
INQUIRY MODE (not including expanded configuration code): This inquiry mode allows you to view any configuration code more easily by breaking it down into specific options. For example, if you wish to decipher a specific code, select it from the subfile with an X and press F23=Cfg Template. The template window will show all the options from your selected configuration code and protect them.
EXACT MODE (including expanded configuration code): This exact mode allows you to enter specific configuration code and expanded configuration code options without entering them in exact positions. For example, assume you know a configuration code and do not wish to worry about which position the Color option goes in. Press F23=Cfg Template and fill in all options. When you press ENTER, the configuration code will be filled with all the options in the correct positions.
INQUIRY MODE (including expanded configuration code): This inquiry mode allows you to view any configuration code and expanded configuration code more easily by breaking it down into specific options. For example, if you wish to decipher a specific code, select it from the subfile with an X and press F23=Cfg Template. The template window will show all the options from your selected configuration code and protect them.
