This screen allows you to select a maintenance function for manufacturing orders.  Orders may be added, firmed, released, modified, or closed.

PLANT

Required.  Used to identify the plant in which the manufacturing order maintenance/inquiry will be done.  The plant must be valid (not blanks or nines) and the user must be authorized to the manufacturing company/ warehouse associated with the plant (Reference File category 409).  Defaults to the plant assigned to the user ID, but may be changed by pressing F17.

ORDER NUMBER

The order number is used to identify a production lot.  To add a new order, the order must not exist; to perform any other maintenance, the order must already exist.  The order number cannot contain special characters or embedded blanks.

PART NUMBER

Enter the part number of the part to be produced if you are adding a new order, leave blank for any other maintenance.  Must be a manufactured, build-thru, or transfer (if it has a bill of material in this plant) part.  If a manufacturing order type ('M') will be specified on the detail screen, the part must have a part status that is valid for manufacturing orders, as defined on the Reference File (category D88).

DISPLAY COMPONENTS

Enter ‘Y’ (Yes) or 'N' (No).  If 'Y' is specified, the components will be displayed and may be modified.  If 'N' is specified, the components will not be displayed but will be maintained by the system as necessary, based on standard bill of material and the order quantity.  As manufacturing order type ‘M’ must have components, placing either a ‘Y’ or an ‘N’ in this field will prompt the “No active component requirement on order” error message.  If this error message occurs, a manufacturing order cannot be added.

MAINTENANCE CODE

The maintenance code allows you to select the function you wish to perform for the specified order.

Option 1 allows you to add a new manufacturing order.

Option 2 allows you to change attributes of an existing order.  This option is valid for firm and open orders only.

Option 3 allows you to change the status of a firm or planned order to open so that the order paperwork may be generated (if required) and work on the order may begin.

Option 4 allows you to change the status of a planned order to firm and to modify the order number, order quantity, order dates or components.

Option 5 is used to close a firmed order.  Once a firmed order has been closed, you cannot use Option 7 to reopen it.

Option 6 is used to close an open order.

Option 7 allows you to change the status of a closed order to open.
