Three different versions of this screen exist:
o Manufacturing Order Receipt Select screen This screen contains only the Order Number and Plant fields. It allows you to specify the manufacturing order for which the receipt will be recorded. After you enter a valid order, the screen will be redisplayed as the detail screen; additional fields will be shown, allowing you to enter receipt data.
o Manufacturing Order Receipt Detail screen This screen allows you to update inventory balances to reflect the receipt of a manufacturing order. If the receipt has no SIR (simultaneous issue and receipt) components, the receipt is posted online. Receipts with SIR components are posted asynchronously. A warning message will be displayed if you enter a transaction quantity that is greater than the order quantity. A message indicating the outcome of the asynchronous process will be displayed on the workstation where the transaction was entered. After you enter a valid MO receipt, the Function Select screen is redisplayed.
o Component Issue/By-Product Receipt Detail screen This screen is used to record the issue of a single component to a manufacturing order or the receipt of a single by-product (or produced component). Consumed components are issued to the order and subtracted from inventory. Produced components are received, along with the parent part, into inventory.
You may also use the Order Pick conversation to issue multiple components (from multiple locations) with a single transaction. For by-product receipt of lot-controlled, produced components, the lot number must first be established in the Lot Control Maintenance conversation for the produced component. If you enter a component quantity that is greater than the expected quantity, a warning message will be displayed.
PLANT (ALL SCREENS)
Required on Select screens. Display only on Detail screens. Identifies the plant in which the receipt will be recorded. The plant must exist on the Plant/Warehouse Description File, and you must be authorized to the manufacturing company/warehouse associated with the plant (on Reference File category 409). For the Manufacturing Order Receipts Detail screen, this must be the plant where the MO was created. On the Select screen, this field defaults to the plant assigned to your user ID, but may be changed by pressing F17.
JOB NUMBER (M.O. RECEIPT DETAIL ONLY)
Display only. Displayed only if the Job Control module is installed. If the manufacturing order is job related, the associated job number is displayed.
GROUP NUMBER (M.O. RECEIPT DETAIL ONLY)
Display only. Displayed only if the Job Control module is installed. If the manufacturing order is job related and the job belongs to a group, the group number is displayed.
ORDER NUMBER (ALL SCREENS)
Required on the MO Receipt Select screen. Required on the Component Issue screen. Required on the By-Product Receipt screen. Display only on the MO Receipt detail screen. The manufacturing order for which receipts are being recorded or components issued. The order must exist on the Manufacturing Order File and cannot be planned or firm.
CONFIGURATION CODE (M.O. RECEIPT DETAIL)
Display only. This code identifies the options selected for a specific configured part. It uniquely identifies the characteristics of the configured part.
PART NUMBER (M.O. RECEIPT DETAIL)
Display only. Shows the part relating to the manufacturing order number.
PART NUMBER (COMPONENT ISSUE/BY-PRODUCT RECEIPT)
Required. The part must be defined as a component for the order. The component cannot have a status of X (canceled) and cannot be a 'reference' component. For component parts whose Part Master file Issue Code is 'S' (Simultaneous Issue upon Receipt), a manual issue or receipt of will cause the issued quantity (or "received" quantity in the case of produced components) to be larger due to the automatic issues or receipts performed when order quantities are received. This should be kept in mind when performing this type of transaction for an SIR component.
CLOSE MO FLAG (M.O. RECEIPT DETAIL ONLY)
Required. Must be either 'Y' or 'N'. Defaults from Reference File category 436. A 'Y' in this field indicates that the M.O. should be automatically closed if it is valid to do so. An 'N' signifies that the M.O. should not be closed automatically.
TRANSACTION QUANTITY (BOTH DETAIL SCREENS)
Required. Enter the quantity of the part that has been produced, the quantity of material being issued, or the quantity of the by-product being received. During manufacturing order receipt transactions, if you enter a transaction quantity that is greater than the order quantity, a warning message will be displayed. Similarly, during components issue transactions, if the quantity issued is greater than the expected quantity, a warning message will be displayed.
UNIT OF MEASURE (BOTH DETAIL SCREENS)
Required. Used to interpret the transaction quantity. Must be the stockkeeping unit of measure for the component part. Must be defined on Reference File category 005.
STOCK LOCATION (BOTH DETAIL SCREENS)
Required. Must be a valid stock location in the manufacturing warehouse. It indicates the location where the inventory is being issued or received.
BALANCE TYPE (BOTH DETAIL SCREENS)
Required. Enter the balance where the inventory is being received or issued. It must be one of the four balance types defined for the system.
REVERSAL CODE (BOTH DETAIL SCREENS)
Optional. Must be blank or R. A Reversal Code of 'R' indicates that this transaction will back out a receipt or issue recorded previously. To reverse transactions for a lot-controlled part, the specified lot number must already exist.
LOT NUMBER (M.O. RECEIPT DETAIL)
Required for lot-controlled parts; must be blank if the part is not lot-controlled. You have several options:
o You may enter an existing lot number in this field. The lot number, though, must exist on the Lot Control File, it must be a manufacturing lot type, its status cannot be closed, and the order number on the lot record must be the same as this manufacturing order.
o You may create a new lot by entering a new lot number in this field.
o If Automatic Lot Number Assignment has been set to Y (yes) in Reference File category Y34, a lot can be assigned automatically using the next available lot number.
o If Automatic Lot Number Assignment has been set to N (no), a new lot number will not be assigned automatically. You may, however, enter either an existing lot number or a new lot number in this field. If you enter a new lot number and press Enter, the lot will be added to the Lot Control File (IC150M). If you enter a lot number that is not yet on the Lot Control File, you must enter the lot FIFO date.
If the lot is on hold, an error message is displayed, and the lot number is reverse imaged. No inventory may be issued from or received into a lot that is on hold.
LOT NUMBER (COMPONENT ISSUE/BY-PRODUCT RECEIPT)
Required for lot-controlled parts; must be blank if the part is not lot-controlled. For component issues, inventory receipts must be recorded against a lot before material can be issued from the lot.
For by-product receipts of produced components, you have several options:
o You may enter an existing lot number in this field.
o You may create a new lot by entering a new lot number in this field.
o If Automatic Lot Number Assignment has been set to Y (yes) in Reference File category Y34, a lot can be assigned automatically using the next available lot number.
o If Automatic Lot Number Assignment has been set to N (no), a new lot number will not be assigned automatically. You may, however, enter either an existing lot number or a new lot number in this field. If you enter a new lot number and press Enter, the lot will be added to the Lot Control File (IC150M). For by-product receipts, if you enter a lot number that is not yet on the Lot Control File, you must enter the lot FIFO date.
If the lot is on hold, an error message is displayed and the lot number is reverse imaged. No inventory may be issued from or received into a lot that is on hold.
LOT FIFO DATE (M.O. RECEIPT DETAIL ONLY)
Displayed only in lot-controlled environments.
o Required if the part is lot-controlled and this is the first receipt against the lot.
o In all other cases, must be blank or must equal the date on the Lot Control File. The Lot FIFO date is used to establish the 'age' of the inventory so that the oldest inventory is used first and inventory obsolescence is minimized.
INVENTORY TYPE (COMPONENT ISSUE/BY-PRODUCT RECEIPT ONLY)
Displayed only if the Job Control module is installed. Optional. The inventory type from which job-controlled components will be issued. Valid values are:
J - Job inventory
G - Job group inventory
Blank - Common job inventory.
This field must be left blank if the part is not job controlled. If G is entered, the job must belong to a job group. For SIR components that are job controlled, the inventory type must be J.
ENTER QC SPECS (M.O. RECEIPT DETAIL/BY-PRODUCT RECEIPT
Required. Indicates if you want to enter quality control specifications for the indicated lot. Valid values are Y (yes) and N (no). If you enter Y, a screen is displayed, allowing you to enter the QC specs. The default value is N.
NEXT MO NUMBER
Required if you wish to issue the part to a subsequent manufacturing order number. The part must be used as a component in the order. The system will record a receipt of the part number into the location entered followed by the immediate issue of the material from the same location to the specified next MO number.
