This conversation allows you to maintain the priority code on the Multiple Location File (IC130M) for specific part/lot/location combinations for lot-controlled and non-lot-controlled parts. If you use priority codes, recognize that records WITHOUT a priority code have the highest priority.
Priority codes are used by the manufacturing order picking programs (MO Pick List and Order Pick Entry) to designate which inventory should be used first to fill an order. The picking programs select inventory based on the values in the following fields:
o blank priority codes
o non-blank priority codes
o lot FIFO dates
o stock locations
o lot numbers
For example, inventory with a blank priority code is always picked first, followed by inventory with priority codes (lowest priority codes are selected first), followed by parts with the oldest lot FIFO date, and so on.
COMPANY/WAREHOUSE
Required. This is the company/warehouse for which inventory will be displayed on the Detail screen (IC165S02). It must be a valid company/warehouse.
PART NUMBER
Required. Enter a valid, active part that is on the Part Master File (DE100M). Bundled parts may not be used.
PRIORITY CODE
Optional. Valid values are blanks, special characters, letters, or numbers. The priority code establishes the order in which multiple location records for a part are selected by the picking programs to fill an order. The value that you enter in this field will default to the Detail screen, unless a priority code had been entered previously. Priority codes follow EBCDIC standards, which means that every character, letter, or number has a specific "priority." Blanks have the lowest value.
Note: The Multiple Location Priority Code Default on Reference File category Y34 does not default to this field.
SELECTION CRITERIA
You may use one or more of the following selection criteria. The selection criteria limit the records that are displayed on the Detail screen.
STOCK LOCATION
Optional. If you enter a stock location, only records with this stock location will be displayed on the Detail screen. The stock location must exist in the Location Validation File.
LOT NUMBER
Optional. You may only enter a lot number for lot-controlled or lot-assignable parts. Furthermore, the part/lot combination must exist in the Lot Control File (IC150M). Only parts with this lot number will be displayed on the Detail screen.
JOB/GROUP NUMBER
Optional. The job/group number is only displayed if the Job Control module is installed. Use this field only for job-controlled parts. You may enter either a valid job number on the Job Master File (JC100M), or a valid group on Reference File category D47.
Only records with the job or group number that you enter will be displayed on the Detail screen. Note that if the part number is not job controlled, the Job/Group Number field is not displayed on the Detail screen.
COMMAND KEYS
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program without processing the entered data.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F17 - Change the company/warehouse for which data is displayed/maintained. The current company/warehouse is displayed in the top left-hand side of the screen.
