This screen is used to define or modify the attributes of a lot. The Actual Potency and Vendor Potency fields are displayed only in a potency-controlled environment and when the part is potency controlled in at least one plant.
LOT NUMBER
Display only (on the Description Detail screen). The lot that is being added or changed. It was entered on the Function Select screen.
Required (on the Partial screen). Select the lot number for maintenance. For an addition, the lot/part number combination must not exist; for any other maintenance, the lot/part combination must already exist. The lot number provides a unique identification for a purchased or manufactured batch, which may be traced through subsequent production orders where it is used.
PART NUMBER
Display only (for Description Detail screen). Required (for Partial screen). The part number must be an active part on the Part Master File, and it must be lot controlled. If you are adding a purchase order lot, the part type must be purchased, manufactured, raw material, or build-thru. If you are adding or changing a manufacturing lot, the part type must be manufactured or build-thru.
ORDER NUMBER
Required. The order number links the lot with a purchase or manufacturing order. The order number cannot be changed if any inventory has been received on the lot. For configured items with a configuration code of 1 or 3, one order may be associated with multiple lots. For non-configured items and configured items with a configuration code of 2 or 4, only one order may be associated with any one lot. An order number of all asterisks (*) indicates that the lot was created by the Inventory Adjustment program.
LOT QUANTITY
Display only. Displays the total inventory receipts against the lot.
LOT FIFO DATE
Display only. The Lot FIFO Date is specified on the initial receipt of inventory for the lot. When an inventory picking list is generated, the oldest lot (based on Lot FIFO Date) is listed as the suggested inventory for picking.
LOT EXPIRATION DATE
Optional. Defines the date on which the lot inventory becomes obsolete. The date is used in generating the Pending Lot Expiration Report to alert you to inventory that will become obsolete within a selected period. A lot will be closed by the Lot History Report processing if the lot has expired.
LOT RETEST DATE
Optional. Any valid date. This is the date that the lot should be reviewed or retested. This date is not processed by the system.
LOT RELEASE DATE
Optional. Any valid date. This is the date that the lot will be released from quarantine or from testing. This date is not processed by the system.
MULTIPLE LOTS PER MANUFACTURING ORDER
Optional. Valid values are Y (yes) or N (no). Defaults to N. This field indicates whether multiple lots cover a manufacturing order. This flag is not processed by the system.
LOT EXPIRATION GRACE PERIOD
Optional. The period of time after the lot expires in which the lot can be released. This value is not processed by the system.
LOT HOLD
Optional. Valid values are Y (yes) or N (no). Defaults to N. Indicates whether or not the lot has been held. Lots that are held cannot have inventory issued from them or received into them. In the inventory status inquiries, held lots are displayed in reverse image. A warning message is displayed when inventory in specific locations is assigned to the lot.
VENDOR LOT NUMBER
Optional for purchased lots. This field is displayed only for purchase lots. Indicates a vendor lot number associated a purchased lot.
ACTUAL POTENCY
Required (only in a potency-controlled environment and when the part is potency controlled in at least one plant). Must be zero or greater than zero. This is the potency level of the lot. It defaults to the standard potency.
VENDOR POTENCY
Required or blank. Required for purchase lots only in a potency-controlled environment, and when the part is potency controlled in at least one plant. (This field is not displayed for manufactured lots.) Must be zero or greater than zero. This is the potency level of the lot that has been assigned by the vendor. It defaults to the standard potency. This field is not processed by the system.
AVAILABLE FOR PLANNING
Required. Valid values are Y (yes) or N (no). The flag will default to Y if you are adding a new lot. This flag affects lot-controlled, potency-controlled parts only. If the flag is set to Y, lot-controlled, potency-controlled parts are available for planning. If the flag is set to N, all location planning balances will be reset to zero, regardless of the actual standard balance or the calculated potent balance. If you change the flag, the Net Change Flag on the Part Master File will be reset to "1" (reanalyze) in every plant in which the lot exists. When the flag is reset, MRP then reanalyzes the beginning inventory balances.
