Set-Up

Two Reference File categories (C23 and C24) must be set-up in order to run the Inventory Cost Analysis Report Program.

·     For each company/warehouse that you wish to perform inventory cost analysis, you must set-up the last period/year that was posted on Reference File category C23 (Inventory Cost Analysis Period End).  You should specify the period/year that immediately precedes the first period/year in which you wish to begin posting.  In addition, this period/year must be a valid period on the Inventory Cost Analysis Calendar (category C24).

When inventory cost analysis posting is performed, the program accesses category C23 to determine the appropriate period to post.  For instance, if the last period/year on category C23 is 12/92, then the program will post transactions for 1/93.  Once the post is complete, the program updates the last period/year posted.

·     You must define a calendar on Reference File category C24 (Inventory Cost Analysis Calendar) for each company and year that you wish to post inventory costs.  The calendar specifies the ending dates for each period in the year.  When category C23 is initially set-up, the period/year specified in that category must be a valid period in a calendar on category C24.

Once the two categories are set-up with the appropriate values, you may perform inventory cost analysis.
