Scheduling Parts for Counting
Scheduling Parts for Counting
After the parts have been classified, they must be scheduled for counting. The first step is to create a Cycle Count Schedule (IC230E). The cycle count schedule determines which parts are scheduled for counting on a specific day. The parts that appear on the schedule are based on their ABC classification and the number of days between cycle counts for that ABC classification. The number of days between cycle counts for the part is added to the date when the part was last cycle counted. This determines the next date that the part is scheduled to be counted.
The cycle count schedule for the day lists the parts that must be counted and their inventory location(s). During cycle counting, the cycle counter goes to the part's stock location, counts the parts, and records the amount on the schedule. To ensure that the part is counted, the schedule does not list the part's expected amount.
